Our organization take endeavor to inform and educate interested parties with new challenges that arise in sector of safeguarding and caring for cultural, natural and archaeological heritage sites in Georgia. This is achieved by trainings, seminars, free consulting and educating communities on importance of safeguarding cultural and archaeological sites.by working with interest groups like developers, agricultural companies, governmental organization and involvement of communities, especially youth.
Project Aim:
1)To instruct and provide informational documents on how to correctly interpret following laws, regulations, obligations and recommendations in regards to safeguarding natural, archaeological and cultural heritage:
* Code of Spatial Planning, Architectural and Construction Activities of Georgia
* LAW OF GEORGIA ON CULTURAL HERITAGE
* Administrative Offences Code of Georgia
* Law of Georgia on Licences and Permits
* European Union Association Agreement
* 1972 World Heritage Convention
* 2003 Convention for Intangible Cultural Heritage
* 2005 Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions
* “Recommendation concerning the Protection, at National Level, of the Cultural and Natural Heritage” -UNESCO. General Conference, 17th, 1972
2) Guides, instructions and informational documents are translated in : English, Russian, Armenian, Azerbaijani, Chinese, Turkish, Japan
3) To conduct training based on created guides, instructions and informational documents and advocate for measures in regards of identifying and safeguarding sites of cultural, natural and archaeological heritage to following parties: developers (residential construction, commercial construction, industrial construction, and infrastructure construction), agricultural companies, regional municipalities.
4) To conduct seminars and lectures in schools, to raise awareness and teach youth on how do identify endangered sites and how to take measures to protect them from illegal tempering.
5) the project aims to safeguard and protect archaeological sites and artifacts that serve as crucial links to Georgia's illustrious ancient culture and history.
6) To ensure that the preservation of archaeological heritage is carefully considered in all development and land use activities.
Project Expected results:
We hope by creating the informational documents and instructions, interested parties as well as informing youth on importance of safeguarding cultural and archaeological heritage, will reduce the number of incidents of destroying existing as well as soon to be found monuments and items of historical value.
At the moment Georgia has obligation of Association and received candidate Status of UN member, in order to meet criteria, standards that these obligations bring to our society, our organization take endeavor to inform and educate interested parties with new challenges that arise in sector of safeguarding and caring cultural and archaeological heritage.
